My art uses figuration and abstraction, this compositional relationship outlines the concept of force and flow, yin and yang, harmonic oppositions. My art is mostly textile, canvas, paper, and paint
‘Force’ in this context can be defined as the moments in the artistic practice where I demand and exert energy—exerting ‘force’ to attain artistic research and disciplined routine. ‘Flow’ in this dichotomy is defined as the moments where I allow creative spontaneity to create moments of intrigue. This is experienced by ‘loafing and inviting the soul’.

The goal is to encapsulate my reality and offer both ‘clarity’ and the result of a ‘chaotic’ resolution to the viewer. What I am creating in my artwork, discusses my design as a soul experiencing the human condition. In turn, what the viewer is focusing on and interpreting about the work explains their design. This ‘force-to-flow’ is also in conversation with another application of duality in my artistic practice, clarity and chaos.
